When should you use It's and when should you use Its.  We hope this quick grammar guide helps you.

It's is the contraction of the words it is or it has.

Examples:

It's getting harder to start the old car.

It's come to my attention that the rules are being violated.

Its is the possesive pronoun similar to his or her which means belonging to it. 

Examples: 

The dog chased its tail. 

The car lost one of its wheels.

Note:  There is no word Its'
